Biography
Driven by a deep commitment to patient-centred care, Dr. Arnil George Sirimanne brings a multidisciplinary approach to cancer treatment, drawing from over a decade of clinical experience across diverse cancer types. He accepts referrals for all solid cancer types, with a focus on brain, head and neck, breast, lung, hepatobiliary, gynaecological, and urological cancers.
Dr. Arnil is a highly respected Clinical Oncologist with over 15 years of clinical experience. He earned his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery, and Bachelor of Obstetrics (MB BCh BAO) from the National University of Ireland, Dublin, before completing his Master of Clinical Oncology at the University of Malaya in 2017.
In 2008, he joined the Department of Radiotherapy and Oncology at Hospital Kuala Lumpur (HKL) as a Medical Officer in Oncology. Driven by a strong interest in cancer care, he went on to complete specialist training at the Department of Clinical Oncology, Pusat Perubatan University Malaya (PPUM). Before joining Icon Oncology, he served as a Clinical Oncologist at both government and private oncology centres, including Sarawak General Hospital (SGH), Institut Kanser Negara (IKN) in Putrajaya, and Prince Court Medical Centre (PCMC) in Kuala Lumpur.
He is a regular speaker at national oncology and medical conferences, sharing insights on nasopharyngeal carcinoma, breast cancer, lung cancer, and prostate cancer. His talks have explored topics such as perioperative therapy in NSCLC (ASCOMOS 2022), advances in breast cancer awareness, and approaches to managing brain tumours. Most recently, at the National Cancer Congress Malaysia in June 2025, he delivered a keynote on addressing disparities in cancer care and the importance of multidisciplinary teams.
Dr. Arnil is deeply committed to providing holistic, patient-centered care at every stage of a patient’s cancer journey, seamlessly integrating the latest advancements in cancer treatments with a compassionate approach. He is passionate about personalised medicine and advanced radiotherapy techniques, including VMAT (Volumetric Modulated Arc Therapy), SBRT (Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy), and SRS/SRT (Stereotactic Radiosurgery/Stereotactic Radiotherapy), providing highly targeted treatments tailored to each patient’s condition.
He believes that advanced treatments and medical innovation should always be paired with compassion and a commitment to quality of life. By integrating supportive care — including nutrition, psychosocial support, and other services delivered by allied health professionals — Dr. Arnil ensures his patients feel genuinely supported from diagnosis through every stage of their journey.
